About Vixen[]
As a child, Mari McCabe had lost her mother, Jeanne-Mari to poachers. On the anniversary of the latter’s death, Mari’s father, the Reverend Richard Jiwe, gifted Mari her mother’s amulet, the Tantu Totem, explaining that according to legend, when one donned the totem, they gained all of the powers of the animal kingdom. Though Mari begrudgingly accepted the totem, her uncle Mustapha barged in, demanding the totem. When Richard refused, Mustapha promptly shot him dead, causing Mari to flee for her life. Once Mari had reached adulthood, she had risen from an orphan to a renowned fashion designer, model, animal rights activist, and reality show star. During an interview, she learned that the mother of a child from her outreach program had gone missing. After the interview, she would use the powers of the Tantu Totem to find the mother, which she succeeded at. She had also discovered other people trapped in cages and their would-be jailer, a twisted Darwinist named Stan Ray, also known as Spiderbite. Using the Tantu Totem’s power, and by extension, the power of the trickster god Kwaku Anansi, who is responsible for her powers to begin with, she was able to best Spiderbite and reunite the lost mother with her child. After this event, she would dedicate her life to being a superheroine, taking on the codename Vixen, and went on to serve as a member of the Detroit branch of the Justice League.

Vixen is a hero who inherited an ancient totem, called the Tantu Totem, that allows her to use the power of any animal and uses it to fight for justice.

Powers and Abilities[]
With her totem, Vixen has the ability to use any power of any animal of land, sea, and air. But being in her animal state too long will make her feral.
Appearance[]
Mari has dark skin, amber eyes, and plump lips. She dons a sleek, tight-collared suit colored with shades of yellow, orange, brown, and black with her Tatum Totem around her neck.
Trivia[]
- Megalyn Echikunwoke previously does the role of her from the Arrowverse series, starting with her own animated web series. She went on to voice Vixen again in LEGO DC Super-Villains (2018).
- In a pre-fight interaction, Bizarro refers to Vixen as "Fox Lady", but she doesn't seem to mind this as she states "At least you got that part right." (vixen is the term for a female fox).
- When Vixen is fighting The Atom, she refers to them as Jacqui and Takeda. Her voice actress, Megalyn Echikunwoke, would voice Jacqui Briggs in Mortal Kombat 11 (2019), replacing Danielle Nicolet from Mortal Kombat X (2015).
- Her pre-fight interactions with John indicate that they're in a relationship, a nod to their relationship in the Justice League Unlimited Animated Series (2004-2006); in one of them, he states that he had meant to call her but she replies that she's "not the type that waits by the phone."[1]
- Brainiac seems to admire Vixen, as evident by their pre-fight interactions (particularly her abilities).
- If Vixen fights herself, there is one interaction in which she assumes the other Vixen to be the product of the trickery of Anansi, an Akan trickster god who empowers Vixen with the Tantu totem.
