History[]
Year 1 (Injustice Year 3 Annual)[]
Shorty before the nuke exploded, Superboy, Beast Boy, and Kid Flash were headed to Metropolis to pick up a food order. However, when the nuke detonated, Kid Flash died instantly while Superboy attempted to shield Beast Boy from the blast, but his attempt failed and Beast Boy died as well. The Titans return to the Tower where Nightwing arrives and informs them on the situation. Nightwing explains The Joker tricked Superman into killing Lois Lane, which resulted in the nuke detonating in Metropolis. Upon hearing Superman Killed the Joker, Superboy flies off to confront his idol, however he leaves in disappointment when Superman refuses to speak to him.
Disgusted with Superman's growing authoritarian position, Superboy believes he's too far gone and must be stopped immediately. Superboy breaks into the Fortress of Solitude in an attempt to steal the Phantom Zone projector and banish Superman to the Phantom Zone. However, Superman arrives holding the Phantom Zone Projector and declares he won't allow anyone to interfere with his plans. A fight breaks out between Superman against Superboy and Wonder Girl, with Superman easily holding them both off until Starfire and Red Robin arrive to help. During the fight, Superman mortally wounds Superboy by breaking his sternum, causing one of his ribs to puncher his heart. With no convenient ways to help Superboy, Superman suggests placing him in the Phantom Zone as his mind won't be tied to his physical form but under one condition: All the Titans must agree to be imprisoned in the Phantom Zone. Superman promises that once his work is done, he will return and release them all. The Titans reluctantly accept, as Superman use the Projector and traps them inside the Phantom Zone. However following Superman's defeat, the Titans would remain trapped in the Phantom Zone for 6 years.
Injustice 2 (Year 1)[]
After the devastation of Williams, Arazona by the Amazo android, Batman and the Insurgency notice their power is slipping away in the war with Ra's al Ghul. In order to regain power over their situation, Batman forms a plan to recruit more allies. Catwoman explains while she worked for Superman, she discovered the Teen Titans are alive and imprisoned in the Phantom Zone, so they plan to go to the Fortress of Solitude and free them. The Insurgency make their way to the Fortress but are attacked by Eradicators. The fight ends when Jonathan and Martha Kent order the eradicators to stand down. The Kents help them open the portal to the Phantom Zone. Plastic Man enters the portal with part of himself tethered to the earth as he navigates through the Phantom Zone in search of the Titans. Plastic Man is eventually successful in locating the Titans and helps guide them to the portal, however Superboy explains he can't leave as it will kill him. The remaining Titans exit through the portal and leave Superboy behind with the promise they will find a way to help him. As they exit, Red Robin embraces Batman and agrees to join him. Suddenly, a beam of heat vision pierces through Robin's chest as General Zod frees himself from the Phantom Zone. Batman pursues Zod and the two engage in combat, however the fight is interrupted by Amazo, who decapitates Zod. Batman then contacts Dr. Mid-Nite in order to have him preform a heart transplant for Superboy. With Zod's body as a donor, the procedure is successful in restoring Superboy's health.
