The Penguin is a cameo character in Injustice: Gods Among Us (2013). He is one of Batman's nemesis.
Biography
The Penguin is a Gotham City crime lord with a deformed physical appearance who fights Batman. Despite the penguin-like appearance that led to his nickname, he is a ruthlessly cunning criminal genius operating out of his nightclub, the Iceberg Lounge. Having dealt with mockery of his stature from an early age, he has dedicated himself to inspiring respect and fear through his exploits. His standard weapon is an umbrella with different gadgets, lethal and otherwise hidden inside of it. He has been a member of the Injustice League, Secret Society of Super-Villains, and Suicide Squad.

Penguin is one of the prisoners of the Trench, who escaped following the breakout instigated by Plastic Man and Luke McDunnagh. Bane would later side with the One Earth Regime to bolster their numbers by having many of the supervillains be recruited to their cause, including Penguin. Catwoman would meet Penguin on Gotham Seaport, asking for his help to side with the Insurgents. However, Bane would appear behind them, claiming that he doesn't want to be on the losing hands, before Catwoman punched him. After successfully capturing Catwoman, Bane knocked Penguin out for his incompetence. He was later found by Batgirl, interrogating him.
In a video call, Penguin claims to Batman that Superman has intended to set up Catwoman for both Bane and Killer Frost despite being refuted by the surveillance footage found by Batgirl that he is also involved. He was eventually taken elsewhere as a prisoner.
Injustice: Gods Among Us
The Penguin appears in the Arkham Asylum stage. He's in the recreation area with other Gotham villains, and beats the player/opponent up if they're thrown into the room.
He also appears in Shazam's S.T.A.R. Labs Missions, where, while Shazam and Catwoman are fighting, he anesthetizes the hero or the thief with his trick umbrella, depending on who's nearer to him.
Powers and Abilities
The Penguin may not be much of a physical threat (he is skilled martial arts however), he has a genius intellect that makes him a successful criminal mastermind and excellent in business management. He also has good leadership skills, able to lead his henchmen proficiently and run operations in Gotham smoothly. While having no superpowers, he is skilled in wielding firearms and even has an assortment of "trick" umbrellas that can act as anything from machine guns to motorized flight devices, making the Penguin adaptable to most situations.
Appearance
The Penguin wears a custom dark jacket with the collar lined with fur over a silk button-up shirt, dark pants, and shoes. He wears a monocle over his left eye and carries an umbrella, and, while not seen in-game, usually wears a dark top hat.
Trivia
- Traditionally, the Penguin is one of the few Batman villains to not be locked up in Arkham Asylum. Like Catwoman, he is normally incarcerated in regular prisons because he is not insane. However, he has been sent to Arkham in “Gotham” and “The Batman”. In “Gotham”, he has also committed cannibalism by eating his stepfamily.
