Kyle Rayner is a member of the Green Lantern Corps and the fourth human member of the Corps.

Kyle Rayner is a top member of the Green Lantern Corps from Earth and undoubtedly just as great as Hal Jordan. After the rest of the Corps were destroyed, he alone was selected to bear the last power ring and carry on the torch. Although he acted alone for many years, when the Corps reformed, his skill gave him a position as an Honor Guard, only behind Salakk and the Guardians in the chain of command of the Corps. He has also been a host for the Ion entity, and a member of the Justice League.

Injustice Comic

Year two

Kyle debuts in the first issue of Injustice Year Two, specifically Chapter Two, flying through space, happily smiling as he spots the Earth in the distance. A narrative reveals Kyle has been participating in a year long intergalactic war, leaving him completely unaware of the events that have occurred on Earth in his absence. He is thinking of calling a girl whose number he got a year ago when his ring suddenly alerts him.

Before he has time to defend himself, Kyle is ensnared by four Sinestro Corps members, with their leader floating in front of Kyle. Sinestro starts to greet Kyle, only for the younger man to manage to strike him with a fist construct. After ordering his corps members to hold Kyle tighter, Sinestro cryptically reveals he has observed the Earth in Kyle's absence and foresees an ally to a coming war. Kyle ignores Sinestro's words and instead mocks him for his appearance, challenging Sinestro.

Amused, Sinestro asks Kyle if he feels fear as he grips Kyle's ring, the only thing protecting him in the cold vacuum of space. Kyle hesitates before attempting to send a message through his ring to the Green Lantern Corps, only for Sinestro to viciously rip off his entire ring finger, leaving Kyle powerless in the void of space.

Before he can suffocate, Kyle is then brutally ripped apart by Sinestro's corps members, killing him almost instantly. Kyle's ring was then destroyed by Sinestro, preventing it from seeking out a replacement.
