Despero is a longtime nemesis of both Martian Manhunter and the Justice League.
Biography[]
Despero is an intergalactic conqueror and enemy to the Justice League of America. He has been a member of the Injustice League, Secret Society of Super-Villains, and the Time Stealers. The ruthless tyrant ruler of planet Kalanor, he possesses incredible mental powers in addition to his great strength and intellect.
Injustice Comic[]
Despero debuts in chapter fifteen of Year Two, having been attacked by the Sinestro Corps in space and thrown down to Earth, landing in Chicago where his impact sends him through several dozens of stories of a building. His fall is stopped by Sinestro, who is 'outraged' by his attack on Earth. Despero is tackled out of the building and into the sky above, and the alien tyrant expresses his fury over Sinestro's games and for his Corps for attacking him. Sinestro suddenly tells Despero to stop, confusing him, and Sinestro then uses his ring to take control of Despero's hands and force him to strangle Sinestro, all the while the warlord 'pleads' with him to stand down.
Despero demands Sinestro release his hands when Sinestro summons an orb construct around Despero's head and neck. As Green Lanterns Hal Jordan and John Stewart arrive, Sinestro snaps Despero's neck, killing him. Sinestro used Despero to gain Hal and John's trust and afterward discards his body onto a nearby rooftop.

Appearance[]
Despero is an extremely tall and muscular pink-skinned alien wearing only a pair of black pants and a blue cape. He possesses a fin atop his head and a third eye on his forehead.
